Do you talk to your children about sex education? At TulSun Foundation – we do!
This week, thanks to the initiative and participation of gynecologist Tetiana Kharchenko, we visited two family-type orphanages in the Kyiv region, home to 19 children. The aim was to host an honest and engaging session on sex education – a topic that’s too often left unspoken.
Tetiana created simple, age-appropriate presentations and, through open discussions, spoke with the children about:
● respecting personal boundaries;
● puberty and physical changes;
● the importance of hygiene;
● relationships, values, and emotions;
● safe behavior and self-protection;
● respect and tolerance for others;
● communication skills and expressing personal needs.
We are truly grateful to Tetiana for this important visit and heartfelt conversation. Sex education should be part of every child’s life – not avoided, not silenced, not hinted at, but taught openly, clearly, and truthfully.
